Wolves "attack" southern Donetsk region

Nine cases of wolf attacks on domestic animals kept by farmers were recorded in the villages of Pershotravneve district in the Donetsk region in the past few days.

Mariupol city website 0629.com.ua reports.

"In one case, wolves torn apart a calf, while in others - they attacked the goats, sheep and other large and small cattle. And that's not counting how many predators tore apart poultry - ducks, chickens, geese," said the head of hunting, fishing farm "Udacha" in Pershotravneve district Oleksandr Krasozov.

After examining the scenes of the attacks, the hunters came to the conclusion that in these cases the animals were attacked not by one wolf but by a pack of wolves.

Incidentally, a week ago local hunters planned to shoot malicious and predatory animals which was agreed with the district authorities, who in their turn had to submit the proposal to the sector "M" military authorities for approval. "However, until now this issue has not been resolved, and the time relapses, it poses now a real threat not only to domestic farm animals, but also to the lives of farmers themselves. Moreover, there exists a probability of rabies spreading," said Krasozov.
