City of Donetsk remains without heating. Schools are forced to reduce duration of classes

Because of lack of adequate central heating municipal Donetsk schools have been forced to reduce time of classes.

Schoolteachers at one of the Donetsk city district occupied by rebels told Ukrinform.

"We have received a telephone message from the city department of education concerning the reduction of lessons from 45 to 30 minutes. Children ought to do physical exercise activities more often," said one of the teachers.

The drop in gas pipeline pressure has led not only to suspension of central heating supplies, but also to hot water deficit in Donetsk. The situation is alleviated only by warm weather temperatures.

A source close to the officials of the self-proclaimed "republic" told the 62.ua website that money paid by the households for natural gas utilities bills was simply stolen.
