U.S. Secretary of Commerce to visit Kyiv to discuss reforms

U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker and the group of top managers of leading U.S. companies will pay a two-day visit to Ukraine at the beginning of next week to meet with the leadership of Ukraine.

This was officially announced by the U.S. Department of Commerce, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"U.S. Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker will travel to Ukraine from October 26-27 as a continuation of the Obama Administration’s sustained commitment to supporting the Ukrainian government and people, and helping strengthen the Ukrainian economy," the statement says.

During the visit, Secretary Pritzker will meet with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk in Kyiv “to discuss progress on the country’s ambitious economic reform agenda.”

The secretary will be joined by a group of American executives who “will hear directly from Ukraine’s leaders on reforms being made, and will share their insights on the additional measures needed to strengthen Ukraine’s business climate.”

 The group will involve, in particular, the leaders of the Cargill agribusiness company, the Citibank U.S. bank, the Honeywell international corporation, the DuPont corporation representative in Europe, Middle East and Africa, the Westinghouse company, the NCH Capital Inc company.
