Ukraine pumps more Russian natural gas into storage

On 12 October, since the date when Ukraine has resumed pumping Russian gas, blue fuel is being pumped directly with the intensity that is many times higher than exports from Slovakia and Hungary.

Ukrtransgaz PJSC released a statement which is available at Ukrinform.

"According to up-to-date information, throughout October 12, Ukraine received 50.8 million cubic meters of gas from the Russian Federation for the needs of domestic consumers. At the same time natural gas was imported from Slovakia and Hungary for a total of 16.1 and 0.8 million cubic meters of gas correspondingly. In addition, this morning we received an order to import natural gas from Poland in the amount of 0.3 million cubic meters of gas," said the spokesperson of the company Maksym Biliavsky.

As a reminder, the European Investment Bank and the World Bank under the guarantees of the EU signed an agreement on providing Ukraine $520 million dollars for purchasing Russian natural gas.

Minister of Energy and Coal Industry Volodymyr Demchyshyn said that Ukraine anticipates buying 2.2 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia. On October 12, Russian gas supplies were resumed after a three-month pause.
