Privatization of Odesa Pryportovy Plant: UBS selected as consultant

The Odesa Pryportovy Plant has signed a contract for obtaining investment consultant services with UBS, the international investment bank.

The press service of the State Property Fund of Ukraine reports.

"The OPP has finally selected the consultant, one of the largest investment banks in the world that will assist us with conducting a transparent and profitable privatization for the state," chief of the SPF Ihor Bilous noted.

It is reported that OPP had sent out offers to international investment banks that are ranked the top 15 banks in the chemical industry, according to ThompsonOne rating.

Six banks responded to the offer. "Checks were made that revealed that none of these banks is under sanctions imposed by Ukraine, the EU countries and the U.S.,"   a statement said.

On September 4, a session of the tender commission was held: "The winner, obtaining the most points, was UBS, the international investment bank. Then negotiations were conducted on the contract under which Odessa Pryportovy Plant JSC obtains services provided by the investment consultant that resulted in signing of the relevant documents.

As a reminder, on September 23, the Cabinet of Ministers approved a list of investment worthy state-owned companies for privatization with hiring consultants to assist in processes.
