Dairy companies recover quantitative losses from Russian market closure - agriculture ministry

Ukrainian companies that produce dairy products have recovered their quantitative losses by compensating for the lost Russian market due to their expansion in Asia, Middle East and the CIS, after the closure of the Russian market.

However, the reorientation of the markets has not yet been financially compensated in full.

A Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine representative told Ukrinform.

"Quantitative losses from the closure of the Russian market have been recovered. Financially wise – we have lost," said director of livestock department at the ministry Mykola Kvasha.

Now, he said, Ukrainian dairy products are being actively exported to Asia, the Middle East and the CIS.

In addition, simultaneously with traditional markets, Ukrainian producers are expanding overseas.

Kvasha said that African countries have begun importing condensed and powdered milk.
