Germany allocates extra €200M for Ukrainian recon drones and civilian protection

Another €200 million German aid package will increase funding for reconnaissance drones and strengthen civilian protection and infrastructure defense in Ukraine.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, this was stated by President of the German Bundestag, Julia Klöckner, while addressing a session of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

“We continue to strengthen support precisely where Russia deliberately relies on a strategy of exhaustion. In these days, Germany is providing an additional €200 million to enhance protection against Russian aerial terror. This involves increasing funding for reconnaissance drones and civilian protection,” she said.

Klöckner added that Germany’s assistance should expand Ukraine’s ability to protect its people and critical infrastructure.

During a briefing with her Ukrainian counterpart, Ruslan Stefanchuk, the politician said she sees greater opportunities for a German presence in Ukraine and that she would relay the results of her visit to Germany’s Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt.
