Special operations personnel of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU), together with the public organization H.A.R.T., conducted tactical control exercises at the Air Assault Forces and Marine Corps Faculty of the Odesa Military Academy.

The DIU reported this on Facebook, releasing a video from the exercises, according to Ukrinform.

During the training, graduating cadets practiced assaulting a fortified position defended by special forces of the DIU Khymera unit.

“Modern warfare requires officers to be capable of making decisions under real combat conditions. Training that involves combat units helps close the preparation gap: cadets operate against an adversary that fights according to modern standards and gain experience that is directly relevant to the battlefield,” the DIU said.

It is emphasized that cooperation between the DIU and the Odesa Military Academy is an important contribution to training the officer corps of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces and Marine Corps.

After such exercises, officers arrive at their units ready for combat operations – with a clear understanding of a commander’s responsibility, unit cohesion, and the cost of every decision.
