Umerov announces upcoming Technology HQ meeting
This week, a Technology Headquarters meeting will be held to address the provision of resources for Ukraine’s Defense Forces aimed at strengthening the protection of Ukrainian cities and enhancing the capability to carry out long-range strikes against Russia.
As reported by Ukrinform, Secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, announced this on Facebook, following a meeting with the President.
“Today (September 7 – ed.), during a meeting with the President of Ukraine, I reported on the progress of tasks in the security and defense sector. One of the key decisions—we will convene a Technological Staff meeting this week,” he said.
According to Umerov, the agenda will focus on issues that define Ukraine’s ability to strike the enemy from a distance and strengthen national defense.
This includes the development of missile programs—ballistic, cruise, and air defense systems; scaling up production of interceptor drones and long-range UAVs; and addressing the state of mobile communications in Ukraine, including coverage, quality, and existing challenges.
“Our priority remains unchanged: protecting Ukrainian cities and expanding our long-range capabilities. These are matters that directly affect people’s lives and the outcome on the front lines,” Umerov emphasized.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukraine uses domestically produced weapons for long-range strikes against Russia and does not coordinate targets with the United States.
