Chernihiv sapper dog Patron received a certificate and a coin from two US veteran organizations, Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW and Bomb Techs Without Borders.

According to a publication on Patron's official Facebook page, the awards were presented by Matthew Howard, CEO of Bomb Techs Without Borders, and Donna Culp, representative of the Military Officers Association of America.

Veterans of Foreign Wars is one of the oldest organizations in the United States. It was founded in 1936 and now unites about 2 million people.

Veterans of Foreign Wars is headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, but has offices in all states and the District of Columbia, as well as in 19 countries around the world, including the Asia-Pacific region, Europe and Latin America.

Bomb Techs Without Borders was founded in late 2018 by a group of US Army veterans. One of the areas of the organization's activity is to raise awareness about mines and other explosive objects with the help of information and outreach work in the most diverse parts of the world – from North America to Europe. Now the organization also cooperates with the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

As reported, the Irish Kennel Club awarded Patron the Golden Paw.
