OSCE SMM records 340 ceasefire violations over past day

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) recorded 194 ceasefire violations in Donetsk region and 146 ceasefire violations in Luhansk region over the past day.

“In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded 194 ceasefire violations, including 62 explosions (ten airbursts, one impact and 51 undetermined),” reads the OSCE SMM daily report 23/2022 issued on February 1.

The majority of ceasefire violations occurred in areas south-east of Chermalyk (government-controlled, 77km south of Donetsk) and southwest of Krasnohorivka (government-controlled, 21km west of Donetsk).

In the previous 24 hours, the Mission recorded 146 ceasefire violations in the region, some of which also occurred near Chermalyk.

“In Luhansk region, the SMM recorded 146 ceasefire violations, including 29 explosions (six impacts and 23 undetermined),” the Mission reports.

The majority of ceasefire violations occurred in areas south of Denezhnykove (government-controlled, 59km north-west of Luhansk) and in areas close to the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk).

The Mission assessed 80 bursts of heavy-machine-gun fire near Denezhnykove as live-fire training exercise outside the security zone.

In the previous 24 hours, the Mission recorded 110 ceasefire violations in the region, all of which occurred close to the disengagement area near Zolote.
