Russia conducting large-scale special operation against Ukraine – intelligence

Moscow is currently conducting a large-scale special operation against Ukraine in the energy, economic and military spheres, according to Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

He said this live on the Right to Power talk show, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"A large-scale special operation against Ukraine is underway to destabilize the situation inside and outside the country. Moscow's idea is quite simple - to destabilize the situation from within using a lot of narratives, starting with anti-vaxxers and ending with those dissatisfied with something for various reasons. A migration crisis that also aims to upset society. A large-scale energy crisis that is still approaching according to our estimates," Budanov said.

In addition, against the background of the above, "the Russian army is carrying out large-scale maneuvers with a build-up at a certain distance from the Ukrainian state border. This build-up will continue and will peak at the end of January," Budanov said.
