More than 39 tonnes of humanitarian cargo delivered to occupied areas of eastern Ukraine

Humanitarian cargo weighing 39.17 tonnes was delivered to certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions currently occupied by Russia.

As the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine informs, the humanitarian cargo was transferred from all Geneva Conventions member states that contribute to the global budget of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

"We would like to thank for the long-term cooperation between the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine. In accordance with Paragraph 1 of the Order of the Ministry No. 51 of July 17, 2020, the ICRC informs about the intentions to deliver humanitarian aid to the territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, which are beyond the control of the Government of Ukraine," the ICRC said in a letter to the Ministry of Reintegration.

Three trucks transported the humanitarian aid through the Novotroitske entry-exit checkpoint.

As reported, on October 11, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories stated that the Russian-controlled occupation administration in certain areas of Luhansk region had been blocking the entry-exit checkpoint in Stanytsia Luhanska since October 10.
