Autumn conscription campaign begins in Ukraine

The autumn conscription of citizens into the Ukrainian Armed Forces has begun in Ukraine, with first groups expected to join the army on October 5, the press service of the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces has reported on Facebook.

"First groups are to join the army on October 5. The conscription will end on December 21," the statement said.

According to the report, the Cabinet of Ministers has set the number of future conscripts at 13,575. Some 6,500 people will join the Armed Forces, 4,775 people - the National Guard, 1,700 people - the State Border Guard Service, and 600 people - the State Special Transport Service.
