Eleven ceasefire violations recorded in JFO area

Over the past day, May 14, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated the ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine 11 times.

“The occupiers opened fire from 120mm artillery systems near Hnutove (20km north-east of Mariupol); antitank missile systems – outside Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk); 120mm mortars – in the area of Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk) and Novhorodske (35km north of Donetsk); 82mm and 120mm mortars – near Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol); heavy machine guns, grenade machine guns – outside Svitlodarsk (57km north-east of Donetsk); heavy machine guns, grenade machine guns, hand-held antitank grenade launchers, and small arms – near Katerynivka (64km west of Luhansk); heavy machine guns, under-barrel grenade launchers, and small arms – in the area of Novotoshkivske (53km west of Luhansk); small arms – outside Starohnativka (51km south of Donetsk),” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

The members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine sustained no combat losses. Ukrainian troops fired back in response to the enemy shelling.

The Ukrainian side of the Joint Control and Coordination Center (JCCC) informed the OSCE SMM about the violations.

As of 7 a.m. on May 15, two ceasefire violations were reported. The enemy fired tripod-mounted man-portable antitank guns near Hladosove (51km north-east of Donetsk) and Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk).

“Ukrainian servicepersons continue to control the situation in the Joint Forces Operation area,” the JFO Headquarters reports.
