OSCE observers spot 81 cargo railway cars in occupied Voznesenivka

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine has recorded 81 stationary cargo railway cars at a railway station in Voznesenivka on Luhansk region's border with Russia, according to a daily report published by the SMM on April 21.

"While positioned at the Chervona Mohyla railway station in Voznesenivka (formerly Chervonopartyzansk, 65km south-east of Luhansk), for about ten minutes, the SMM observed 81 stationary cargo railway cars (80 wagons with covered cargo and one wagon loaded with wooden logs)," the report reads.

According to the report, while positioned at a border crossing point near Voznesenivka, the Mission observed one car (with "LPR" plates) entering Ukraine. After about ten minutes, a member of the armed formations told the SMM to leave the area.

On April 19, advisers to the leaders of the Normandy Four countries called on the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) to work on a coordination mechanism to respond to ceasefire violations. On April 20, the TCG's security subgroup made significant progress in strengthening the ceasefire of July 22, 2020. The Ukrainian side expressed hope that a document introducing additional measures to comply with the ceasefire regime would be presented in a fully agreed version at the next TCG meeting at the level of heads of delegations, which is to be held on April 28.
