OSCE Chairperson-in-Office calls for opening of all crossing points in Donbas

OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Sweden Ann Linde expressed concern about the escalation of the situation in Donbas and called for the opening of all checkpoints there.

She wrote about this on Twitter on March 4, Ukrinform reports.

“I am concerned about recent reports of casualties in eastern Ukraine. Vital to consolidate and build on ceasefire to ease humanitarian situation,” Linde said.

She also welcomed the fact that a humanitarian convoy could cross in Shchastia on Monday.

"Need to open all crossing points on both sides also for civilians," Linde noted.

As reported, since February 19, the surge in attacks by Russian occupation forces has been observed in Donbas, as a result of which the Ukrainian military suffered losses.

According to the agreements reached in the Normandy and Minsk formats, the simultaneous opening of new checkpoints in Shchastia and Zolote was to take place on November 10, 2020.

Ukraine fully complied with the agreements and opened the checkpoints.

However, the Russian-controlled occupation administrations are blocking the opening of the checkpoints.
