Over 170 weapons deployed outside designated storage sites in occupied Donbas

The OSCE SMM recorded 174 units of weapons and equipment deployed outside designated storage sites in the training areas of the Russian-occupation forces in Donbas.

This is stated in the daily report of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine (SMM) issued on 2 March 2021.

On February 23, in a training area near Myrne (28km southwest of Luhansk), the aerial imagery revealed the presence of 21 tanks, 11 self-propelled howitzer and mortars, 10 towed howitzers and mortars.

In addition, in the same training area of the Russian-occupation forces, 56 armoured combat vehicles, which are not proscribed by the provisions of the Minsk agreements on the withdrawal of weapons, were spotted.

Mission’s drone revealed another 16 tanks in a training area near Ternove (57km east of Donetsk).

According to the monitors, 32 tanks were spotted in a training area of the Russian armed formations near Kruhlyk (31km south-west of Luhansk).

In a training area near Miusynsk (62km south-west of Luhansk), the imagery also revealed the presence of 12 tanks, 20 self-propelled howitzer and mortars, 7 surface-to-air missile systems, 25 towed howitzers and mortars, 46 armoured combat vehicles.

The OSCE SMM’s drone also spotted the presence of 63 armoured combat vehicles and 12 tanks in a training area near Buhaivka (37km south-west of Luhansk).
