Danilov, Egyptian ambassador discuss prospects for cooperation in defense and space sectors

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksiy Danilov met with Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Ukraine Ayman Elgammal to discuss the prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation, including in the space sector, the NSDC's press service reports.

Among the key areas of bilateral cooperation, the parties mentioned the strengthening of trade and economic ties, the signing of relevant agreements, and cooperation in the defense industry and space.

Referring to the issue of cooperation in the space sector, the NSDC secretary stressed the importance of establishing contacts and discussing practical proposals between the Egyptian side and the recently created Ministry for Strategic Industries of Ukraine.

According to Danilov, one of Ukraine’s tasks within the framework of reforming the domestic defense and industrial complex is to attract interested countries to cooperation, in particular, through establishing joint enterprises.

In his turn, the ambassador assured of the readiness to expand bilateral cooperation and bring it to a higher level.

As Ukrinform reported, the NSDC plans to complete the development of Ukraine's energy security strategy by March 14.
