NATO promises Ukraine new opportunities under EOP program

This year, Ukraine and NATO will develop additional measures and practical steps to improve military interoperability under the Enhanced Opportunities Partnership (EOP) program.

Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Centre in Ukraine Vineta Kleine said this during the panel discussion entitled "Stability and Security: What Can Ukraine Learn from NATO?" on February 17, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Kleine noted that Ukraine's obtaining the status of an Enhanced Opportunities Partner is a recognition of our country's important contribution to NATO's operations, exercises and response forces.

“As an Enhanced Opportunities Partner, Ukraine will be able to gain new opportunities, in particular, improving access to interoperability programs, conducting exercises, sharing information and learning from our common experience… This year we will work together with Ukraine to improve the program [Enhanced Opportunities Partnership (EOP) program], there will be additional activities to improve our interoperability," Kleine said.

In this context, she assured that NATO will continue to support Ukraine in its efforts to ensure security and peace.
