President visits front line in Donbas

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has visited the front line in the area of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) as part of his working trip to Donetsk region, the presidential press service has reported.

According to the report, the head of state got acquainted with the operational situation a few hundred meters from the contact line and talked to the military.

"It is important that senior officers stay on the front line. We spoke with Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ruslan Khomchak about the rotation of senior officers so that they could constantly visit our guys on the front line," Zelensky said.

Military from the 503rd Naval Infantry Battalion presented the president with a commemorative badge on the front line.

Upon return from Donbas, Zelensky presented state awards and valuable gifts to the military, the report said.
