Russian sniper kills Ukrainian serviceman near Toretsk

A Russian sniper has seriously wounded a Ukrainian serviceman near Toretsk in Donetsk region, who later died in hospital, the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group has reported on Facebook.

"Today, on February 2, in the area of Toretsk, a serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces seriously wounded a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Despite the assistance provided, he died at the hospital," the report said.

The Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination sent a note to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

On January 29, Russian invaders wounded two servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Vodiane in Donetsk region, using a combat drone.

Earlier, on January 26, Russian-backed forces wounded a Ukrainian serviceman near Popasna. The Ukrainian defender died at the hospital a few days later.
