Ukraine sends note to OSCE mission over killing of serviceman near Hnutove

The Ukrainian side of the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC) has sent a note to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine due to the killing of a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman as a result of enemy shelling in Donbas, the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group has reported on Facebook.

On January 21, at about 20:00, a serviceman of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was killed in an enemy attack near Hnutove.

The Ukrainian side of the JCCC launched a coordination mechanism: it introduced a "silence regime," requested a ceasefire, prepared and sent a note to the OSCE SMM.

On January 21, near Hnutove, Russian occupation forces fired at Ukrainian positions from 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of various systems and a heavy machinegun. The work of the enemy's sniper was recorded in the same area. One Ukrainian defender was killed in enemy shelling.
