Militants fire at OSCE drone in Donbas for two days in a row

Militants of the Russian armed formations fired at an OSCE unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which was conducting a previously announced flight, in the occupied territory of Donetsk region.

The OSCE SMM said this in a report issued on January 13, based on information from the monitoring teams received as of 19:30 on January 12, 2021.

“While positioned about 2km west of Lebiazhe (non-government-controlled, 23km north-east of Donetsk) to conduct an announced mini-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flight, the SMM heard 17 bursts of heavy machine gun and 15 shots of small arms fire at an assessed range of 1-2km north, assessed as aimed at the UAV, which was flying about 1.5km north-north-east of its position," the report says.

The SMM safely landed the UAV and remained in the area

According to the previous day's report, small arms fire was assessed as directed at an SMM mini-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) near Molodizhne (non-government-controlled, 63km north-west of Luhansk).
