OSCE SMM spots 400 anti-tank mines near occupied Shyroka Balka

On 27 December, the OSCE SMM spotted about 400 anti-tank mines in a field near Shyroka Balka in the occupied area of Donetsk region.

“On 27 December, in a field about 2km south-west of Shyroka Balka (non-government-controlled, 34km north-east of Donetsk), an SMM mid-range UAV again spotted about 400 anti-tank mines, assessed as belonging to the armed formations,” reads the OSCE SMM daily report issued on 30 December 2020.

As reported, on 4 June, in four areas in fields located in westerly and southerly directions of Shyroka Balka (non-government-controlled, 34km north-east of Donetsk), an OSCE SMM midrange UAV spotted about 590 anti-tank mines (441 of which for the first time, out of which ten were by residential houses near the settlement’s north-western outskirts), assessed as belonging to the armed formations.
