U.S. calls on Russia and its proxies to open all checkpoints in Donbas – embassy

The United States has called on Russia and its proxies to open all entry-exit checkpoints in Donbas and stop hindering progress towards peace at civilians’ expense.

"We urge Russia to follow Ukraine’s lead and open all entry-exit crossing points in the Donbas and allow Ukrainian civilians to collect pensions and buy medicine. Russia and its proxies must stop obstructing progress towards peace at civilians’ expense," the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine posted on Twitter.

On November 16, the British Embassy in Ukraine said that Russia must fulfill its commitments and urge its proxies in the occupied Donbas to immediately open entry-exit checkpoints in Shchastia and Zolote.

On November 13, the Foreign Ministries of France and Germany welcomed the opening by Kyiv of new entry-exit checkpoints along the contact line in Donbas and called on Russia and Russian-backed militants to let people pass through the checkpoints.
