Ukrainian, NATO ships hold joint exercise in Black Sea

Ships of the Ukrainian Navy and Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2) have conducted a joint exercise in the northwestern part of the Black Sea to increase the interaction of naval units, the Ukrainian Navy's press service has reported.

"A joint passing exercise (PASSEX) was held with the participation of the Ukrainian Navy and Standing NATO Maritime Group 2 (SNMG2) in the northwestern part of the Black Sea. Their purpose was to test the interaction of multinational tactical units in accordance with NATO standards and to increase the level of interoperability," the report reads.

During the maneuvers on the high seas, the ships of the navies of Ukraine, Greece, Italy, Bulgaria, Turkey and Romania performed a number of tasks to increase interoperability in accordance with the standards of the North Atlantic Alliance. The main attention was paid to improving the skills and actions of ship crews while performing tasks as part of ship and boat groups.
