Ukraine, UK sign memorandum on enhancing defence cooperation

October 7, Minister of Defence of Ukraine Andriy Taran and Secretary of State for Defence of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Ben Wallace signed a memorandum on enhancing cooperation in the military and military-technical spheres.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, the President’s press service reports.

As noted, the memorandum provides for cooperation in the defence sector.

“An important aspect is the attraction of funding from the UK's export credit agency in the amount of GBP 1.25 billion. This should significantly increase the efficiency and reduce the time of implementation of joint projects in the defence sector, which is critical in the context of aggravation of the situation in the Black Sea region,” the Office of the President of Ukraine emphasizes.
