Russian-led forces violate ceasefire in Donbas twice, no casualties reported

The situation in the Joint Forces Operation area in Donbas remains fully controlled by the Ukrainian troops.

"Adhering to the full and comprehensive ceasefire, our troops continue to perform their duties with due diligence," the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

On August 20, two ceasefire violations by the armed formations of the Russian Federation were recorded. In particular, the enemy opened fire from heavy machine gun near Avdiivka (17km north of Donetsk) and from grenade machine gun outside Novooleksandrivka (65km west of Luhansk).

As in previous days, the shots were provocative and unaimed, so Ukrainian troops did not react to them and did not return fire.

No combat casualties have been reported among the Joint Forces units.

Today, August 21, the ceasefire has been observed in all parts of the front and no violations have been recorded.

Ukrainian servicepersons adhere to the full and comprehensive ceasefire and are ready to give an adequate response to enemy’s actions, the Headquarters noted.
