Ukrainian troops come under heavy weapons fire near Nevelske in Donetsk region

Today, June 30, Russian-backed forces have attacked the positions of Ukrainian Joint Forces near the villages of Nevelske and Novozvanivka in Donbas.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Maksym Prauta said this at a briefing on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"As of 12:30 on June 30, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area twice using hand-held anti-tank grenade launchers, 120mm mortars, and small arms,” the spokesman said.

The Ukrainian military gave an adequate response to the enemy attacks using mounted anti-tank grenade launchers.

Two members of the Joint Forces sustained shrapnel wounds. They were promptly taken to a mobile hospital and received proper medical care.

The enemy's losses are being specified.

The situation in the JFO area remains controlled by the Joint Forces, Prauta added.
