Invaders fire 120mm mortars at Ukrainian positions near Novotoshkivske

Since the beginning of the day, Russian-led forces have opened fire from 120mm mortars on the positions of the Joint Forces near Novotoshkivske in Luhansk region.

Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Dmytro Hutsuliak said this at a briefing on Monday, February 24, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

“Today, February 24, the armed formations of the Russian Federation continued to violate the Minsk agreements. At 06:45, the invaders opened fire from 120mm mortars at the Ukrainian positions near Novotoshkivske (53km west of Luhansk)," the spokesman said.

According to available information, no casualties among our soldiers have been reported.

As Ukrinform reported, on February 23, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in eastern Ukraine 14 times. The enemy used 122 artillery systems, 82mm and 120mm mortars banned under the Minsk agreements, grenade launchers of different systems, UAVs, weapons on BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, heavy machine guns and small arms to fire on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
