Russian-led forces fire artillery, 120mm mortars in Donbas

On January 10, the armed formations of the Russian Federation violated ceasefire in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas 13 times.

“The enemy used 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars banned under the Minsk agreements, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and other small arms to shell Ukrainian positions,” the press center of the JFO Headquarters reports.

In the zone of action of tactical force “East”, Russian-occupation troops used grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and other small arms to shell Ukrainian troops near Marinka (23km south-west of Donetsk); mounted automatic grenade launchers and small arms – outside Nevelske (18km north-west of Donetsk); 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms – in the area of Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); small arms – near Novotroitske (36km south-west of Donetsk).

In the zone of action of tactical force “North”, the enemy fired 122mm artillery systems, 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers of different systems and small arms on Ukrainian positions near Orikhove (57km north-west of Luhansk); grenade launchers of different systems and small arms – outside Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk); under-barrel grenade launcher – in the area of Pivdenne (40km north-east of Donetsk); 120mm mortars – near Novotoshkivske (53km west of Luhansk).

Three servicemen of the Joint Forces were wounded as a result of enemy attacks over the past day.

Today, the Russian-occupation troops have opened fire from mounted automatic grenade launchers and small arms on Ukrainian defenders near Pisky (11km north-west of Donetsk) and from 120mm mortars on positions near Krasnohorivka (21km west of Donetsk). No casualties among Ukrainian troops have been reported.
