Ukraine’s Armed Forces to train about eight thousand NCOs next year

Next year, 7,730 non-commissioned officers are to be trained in the Ukrainian army.

“Out of 7,730 non-commissioned officers planned to be trained next year, 457 will become instructors. This year, more than 5,800 servicepersons have become professional non-commissioned officers,” ArmyInform reports with reference to the Main Personnel Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As noted, the network of training centers, colleges and centers of NCO training has been established, being identical in structure, functions and tasks to the corresponding institutions in NATO member states.

The NCO training system in Ukraine provides for a multilevel model of NATO armies. The training course programs have basic, intermediate, advanced and higher levels. Each of them envisages two stages: training of commander, as well as professional training according to the type of troops, type of the Armed Forces and military occupational specialty

In addition, Ukrainian NCOs constantly undergo training in foreign military educational establishments and training centers, including NATO School Oberammergau (Germany), the Armed Forces of Switzerland, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, as well as two United State service academies.
