The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has endorsed the draft order on ratification of the framework agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of France on official support for strengthening maritime safety and security of Ukraine.

"Today, December 11, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine endorsed the draft order on submission to the Verkhovna Rada of the framework agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of France on official support for strengthening maritime safety and security of Ukraine for the ratification," the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reports.

In particular, Deputy Interior Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Honcharov said that the document would allow implementing a very important project – the design of Ukrainian-French patrol boats for enhancing maritime security.

According to him, over the next three years, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine will receive 20 modern 32-meter Ocea boats for patrolling the waters of the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.

These patrol boats will be used for the protection of the state border on the water, surveillance and control operations, search and rescue operations and counteraction to sabotage and reconnaissance groups, Honcharov added.

On November 19, Ukraine and France signed the intergovernmental framework agreement on official support for strengthening the maritime and border safety systems.
