Militants denied OSCE Mission full access at three checkpoints in Donbas over past weekend

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine reported on denial of the SMM access at three checkpoints in Donbas in the areas outside control of the Government, according to a report published by the OSCE SMM on December 2.

“On 30 November, at a checkpoint about 800m north of Zaichenko (non-governmentcontrolled, 93km south of Donetsk), two armed members of the armed formations again denied the SMM passage southwards to Sakhanka (non-government-controlled, 97km south of Donetsk) and westwards to Pikuzy (formerly Kominternove, non-governmentcontrolled, 92km south of Donetsk), citing ‘demining activities,” reads the report.

Also, on that day, at a checkpoint west of Bezimenne (non-government-controlled, 100km south of Donetsk), an armed member of the armed formations again denied the SMM passage, citing “demining activities”.

“On 1 December, at a checkpoint near Verkhnoshyrokivske (formerly Oktiabr, nongovernment-controlled, 85km south of Donetsk), a member of the armed formations again denied the SMM passage to non-government-controlled areas, citing “demining activities near Sakhanka and Pikuzy”.
