Sajdik: Disengagement of forces in Petrivske to start on Saturday

The disengagement of forces in the village of Petrivske, Donetsk region, will start tomorrow at 12:00 Kyiv time.

Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office in Ukraine and in the Trilateral Contact Group, Ambassador Martin Sajdik, made a corresponding statement on behalf of the Trilateral Contact Group today.

“The Trilateral Contact Group agreed on the date and time of the start of the renewed withdrawal of forces and hardware from the disengagement area of Petrivske. The withdrawal of forces and hardware will start on Saturday, 9 November 2019, at 12:00 Kyiv time,” reads the statement.

Earlier, Commander of the Joint Forces, Lieutenant General Volodymyr Kravchenko stated that the Ukrainian side was ready to start the practical process of disengagement of forces and hardware at the site No. 3 in the area of Bohdanivka and Petrivske in Donetsk region today at 12:00.

The agreements on start of the disengagement of forces in Petrivske and Zolote were reached at a meeting of the Trilateral Contact Group on October 1.

The disengagement of forces and hardware in the area of Zolote-4, Luhansk region, lasted from October 29 to November 1. After that, on November 3, the mine clearance process began on the disengagement site which will last until November 9. The dismantlement of the fortifications is expected to last until November 25.
