Minister Zahorodniuk comments on potential Russian attack on southern Ukraine

Ukrainian Defense Minister Andriy Zahorodniuk has denied the information provided by former foreign minister Pavlo Klimkin on the serious possibility of a Russian attack on southern Ukraine.

He stated this during a briefing, answering a question from an Ukrinform correspondent.

“We are very interested in where Mr. Klimkin received such information. If he can inform our intelligence department, we will be very grateful to him. We constantly monitor the situation both in Russia and in the temporarily occupied territories. At present, we do not have such information,” the minister assured.

At the same time, he noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces were ready for any scenario.

As Ukrinform reported, Klimkin said on the air of Radio HB on October 31 that he was “absolutely sure” of Russia's military attack on southern Ukraine.
