Militants deny full access to OSCE Mission in Donbas - report

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine reported on denial of the SMM access in Donbas in the areas outside control of the Government, according to a daily report published by the OSCE SMM on October 30.

“At a checkpoint on the eastern edge of Oleksandrivske (formerly Rozy Liuksemburh, non-government-controlled, 90km south-east of Donetsk), two members of the armed formations denied the SMM access west towards Roza (non-government-controlled, 89km south of Donetsk) citing ‘ongoing exercises in a training area nearby,” reads the report.

The second denial took place at a checkpoint on the northern edge of Novoazovsk (non-government-controlled, 102km south-east of Donetsk), three members (two of them armed) of the armed formations again denied the SMM access south towards Novoazovsk, citing “orders from superiors”.

“At a checkpoint about 2.5km west of Bezimenne (non-government-controlled, 100km south of Donetsk), three armed members of the armed formations again denied the SMM passage west citing ‘ongoing special operation in the area,” reads the report.

As Ukrinform reported, on Monday, Russian-backed militants denied the SMM access at their checkpoints near Novoazovsk and Zaichenko.
