JFO command announces start of disengagement of troops near Zolote-4

The process of disengagement of troops on both sides at section No. 2 near the settlement of Zolote-4 in Luhansk region started at 12:00 on Tuesday, October 29, the command of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has reported on Facebook.

"We would like to inform you that today, on October 29, 2019, at 12:00, the disengagement process started on both sides at section No. 2 in the settlement of Zolote-4 in Luhansk region. This was made possible due to the observance of the ceasefire regime over the past week," the report reads.

It notes that representatives of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine have confirmed the beginning of the disengagement of forces and weapons.

"The Ukrainian side will take all the necessary measures, and the disengagement of forces and weapons will not weaken the defense capabilities of Ukrainian units in the designated area, and the authorities will in no case leave the local population without attention since all measures are being carried out for one purpose, which is safety in the specified disengagement areas, preserving the lives and health of civilians and servicemen," the report said.

The JFO command also stressed that a shelling instance reported the day before was recorded not in the disengagement area.
