Turkey's Aselsan to supply $6 mln worth of radio stations to Ukraine

Spetstechnoexport, part of the Ukroboronprom State Concern, has signed a $6 million contract with Turkish company Aselsan for the supply of VHF radio stations for the needs of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the concern's press service has reported.

According to the report, the signed contract is part of a framework agreement between the two companies for the supply of Turkish radio communications equipment to Ukraine, which was concluded in 2016. The agreement is being implemented under the offset obligation mechanism between the companies and provides for the launch of their production in Ukraine.

"New batches of military communications systems will be supplied to Ukrainian troops in 2020 and will be the first ones manufactured in Ukraine," the report said.

Ensuring the production of Turkish radio communication systems in Ukraine allows the Ukrainian Defense Ministry to access the most up-to-date communications technologies, the press service said.
