InformNapalm: Russian Yamal landing craft involved in seizure of Crimea

The Yamal large landing craft of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet participated in the operation to seize Crimea in 2014.

The corresponding fact was established by volunteers of the InformNapalm international intelligence community.

"The volunteers of InformNapalm established the fact of involvement of the crew of the Yamal large landing craft of Russia’s Black Sea Fleet in the operation to seize Crimea. This ship has not been indicated so far in the list of Russian ships involved in the aggression against Ukraine in 2014, which was published by the Military Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, so the research is relevant,” the report reads.

It is noted that the Yamal large landing craft, side No. 156, is part of the 197th brigade of landing ships of the Black Sea Fleet of the military unit No. 72136 deployed in Sevastopol city, the temporarily occupied Crimea.

InformNapalm identified the names of several sailors who served on the Yamal ship and participated in the seizure of the peninsula. They are friends in social networks, have common army photos and published photo proofs of receiving a medal of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation “For the Return of Crimea.”

InformNapalm appeals to the Military Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine with a request to add the Yamal large landing craft to the list of units and equipment of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation involved in the occupation of Crimea.
