The Ukroboronprom State Concern has won a tender announced by the Ministry of the Interior of Peru for the purchase of a certain number of military transport aircraft, the concern's press service has reported, quoting Ukroboronprom Director General Pavlo Bukin.

According to the report, the Ukrainian transport aircraft An-178 will replace the Ukrainian An-32Bs in this Latin American country.

"Peru may be the first country exporting the new aircraft that was created at Antonov State Company. The professionalism and perseverance of the contractors of Ukroboronprom, as well as the legendary reliability of the Antonov trademark, have worked in our favor," the press service quoted Bukin as saying.

According to him, in the Peruvian tender, Ukraine's An-178 was ahead of the C-27 Spartan (U.S.-Italy) and the C-295 (Airbus).

According to the report, Spetstechnoexport, part of Ukroboronprom, participated in the tender. In the tender, which evaluated performance, delivery time, extended warranties, personnel training, social and production preferences, the Ukrainian An-178 outpaced all competitors.
