OSCE records fewer ceasefire violations in Donbas

The OSCE Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine recorded 14 explosions in Donetsk region, and no ceasefire violations in Luhansk region on August 8.

The OSCE SMM informed this in a report, based on information received as of 19:30, August 8, 2019.

"In Donetsk region, the SMM recorded fewer ceasefire violations, including 14 explosions, compared with the previous reporting period (about 70 explosions)," the report says.

More than half of the ceasefire violations were recorded in areas west of Yasynuvata (non-government-controlled, 16km north-east of Donetsk), in areas south of Avdiivka (government-controlled, 17km north of Donetsk) and in areas south-south-east and south of Chermalyk (government-controlled, 31km north-east of Mariupol).

"In Luhansk region, the Mission recorded fewer ceasefire violations (and no explosions), compared with the previous reporting period (26 explosions)," the report notes.

The majority of the ceasefire violations were recorded inside the disengagement area near Zolote (government-controlled, 60km west of Luhansk).
