Taylor: Ukraine submits request for more American Javelins

Ukraine has submitted a request to the United States for getting more Javelin anti-tank missiles.

"Ukraine would like to buy more Javelins under the US Department of Defense's foreign military sales program," U.S. Chargé d'Affaires a.i. to Ukraine, William Taylor said in an interview with Radio Liberty.

In March 2019, US Special Representative for Ukraine Negotiations Kurt Volker also confirmed Ukraine’s interest in receiving more Javelin anti-tank missiles.

In late 2017, the US Presidential Administration approved a decision to sell lethal weapons to Ukraine, including Javelin anti-tank missiles. On March 1, the U.S. Department of State approved the sale of 210 Javelin missile systems and 37 launchers to Ukraine to the tune of about $47 million.
