Sniper kills Ukrainian soldier in Donbas

An enemy sniper has killed Ukrainian soldier Volodymyr Salitra, a 29-year-old resident of Lviv region, in the area of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in Donbas, the press service of the Zhovkva District State Administration has reported.

"Volodymyr Salitra, a 29-year-old resident of the village of Volytsia, Zhovkva district, has died in the JFO area from a sniper bullet. The Hero served in the 24th detached mechanized brigade named after King Danylo," the statement reads.

The district state administration extended its condolences to the loved ones of the soldier.

According to the JFO headquarters, Russian-backed forces mounted 24 attacks on Ukrainian positions on July 11. One Ukrainian soldier was killed and two others were wounded.
