Ukrainian Special Operations Forces Center gains NATO certification

The 140th Center for the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces received a certificate of the NATO Response Force.

For the first time in history, a non-NATO country received such a certificate, the Ukrainian military portal reports.

“For the first time in history, a unit from a non-NATO country has been certified as a Special Operations Forces (SOF) unit and has the right to be involved in the NATO Response Force (NRF),” the statement reads.

As noted, the 140th Center for the Special Operations Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces passed the relevant exams in Lithuania.

The NATO Response Force (NRF) was created at NATO summit in Prague in 2002 to replace the Allied Command Europe Mobile Forces.
