Lithuania transfers small arms ammunition to Ukraine

Lithuania transferred small arms ammunition to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of National Defense of Lithuania has reported.

“The transfer of ammunition is part of Lithuania’s consistent and comprehensive support of Ukraine, which strengthens the defense capability and ensures the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state,” Lithuanian Defense Minister Raimundas Karoblis said.

On June 11, the Ukrainian Air Force’s aircraft transported from Lithuania almost a million rounds of Soviet-made small arms ammunition, both rifles and machine guns. The Government of the Republic of Lithuania decided to transfer ammunition in early February. The total cost of small arms ammunition is EUR 255,500.
