Great Britain to support Ukrainian army in deterring Russian aggression

During a meeting with Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces Ruslan Khomchak, British Ambassador to Ukraine Ms. Judith Gough assured of further cooperation between the two countries in reforming the Armed Forces of Ukraine and deterring Russian aggression.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported this on Facebook on Tuesday.

"On June 4, 2019, Chief of the General Staff – Сommander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Lieutenant General Ruslan Khomchak held a protocol meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Ukraine Ms. Judith Gough. During the meeting, the sides discussed the spheres of further military cooperation between Ukraine and Great Britain, in particular, on further reformation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, preparation of Ukrainian units within the ORBITAL program and the intensification оf language training for officers of the senior staffs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” reads the report.

Also, Lt. Gen. Ruslan Khomchak thanked Ms. Judith Gough for the help and support and stressed that the leaders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be set to continue cooperation in previously established directions.

In turn, Ms. Judith Gough assured that Great Britain supported and will continue to support Ukraine in deterring Russian aggression.
