Russian-backed forces open fire on Ukrainian servicemen near Katerynivka, one wounded

Russia's armed formations have opened fire on the positions of the Ukrainian Joint Forces near the village of Katerynivka from mounted grenade launchers, small arms and sniper rifles, wounding one Ukrainian soldier, the headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has said in a report as of 18:00 on April 21, which was posted on its Facebook page.

"The enemy has violated the ceasefire once since the beginning of the day. In the area of responsibility of the North operational and tactical group, the armed formations of the Russian Federation fired at the positions of the Joint Forces near the village of Katerynivka from automatic mounted grenade launchers, automatic small arms and sniper weapons," the report reads.

It notes that one Ukrainian soldier was wounded in the attack.

"Joint Forces units gave an adequate response to hostile provocations. The losses of the enemy are being specified. The situation in the area of the Joint Forces Operation remains under control," the headquarters said.
