Russian-led forces launch eight attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas

Russian occupation forces launched eight attacks, using weapons banned under the Minsk agreements twice, on positions of Ukrainian troops in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) area in Donbas over the past day.

The illegal armed formations fired 82mm mortars, weapons on infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers of different systems, heavy machine guns and small arms on the units of the Joint Forces.

“In the zone of action of tactical force ‘East’, Russian-led forces opened fire from 82mm mortars and mounted antitank grenade launchers on Ukrainian troops near Mykolaivka (77km west of Luhansk); 82mm mortars – outside Vodiane (94km south of Donetsk); weapons on BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, automatic mounted grenade launchers and heavy machine guns – in the area of Pisky (11km north-west of Donetsk); weapons on BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles – in the area of Pavlopol (25km north-west of Mariupol); automatic mounted grenade launchers – near Lebedynske (16km east of Mariupol) and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol); heavy machine guns and small arms – outside Novoselivka Druha (36km north-east of Mariupol).

No casualties among Ukrainian troops were reported.

Today, the enemy has already opened fire from mounted antitank grenade launchers and heavy machine guns on the Joint Forces units near Svitlodarsk (57km north-east of Donetsk). One Ukrainian soldier was wounded in shelling.
